In March of 2007, a unique event took place for the first time. The Carnival of Care was created for
survivors of auto accidents, brain injury, and their caregivers. This carnival is a free event that offers an
opportunity to get out, have an outrageous time and receive information about services that are available
to assist them. We had 250 people who attended last year, including our great group of vendors and
volunteers.
The 2nd Annual event will be held at Farmington Hills Manor on March 29, 2008. The Carnival of Care has
a midway carnival theme. The survivors will visit approximately 60 booths in the hall for information that
would benefit and improve their quality of life. We are expecting 300 survivors and their caregivers. Each
booth includes a carnival game with prizes. Throughout the day we will also be raffling prizes to everyone in
attendance, as well as having clowns, balloon artists, massages and music.
All proceeds above expenses will be donated to the BIA (Brain Injury Association). Last year we donated
$4,851.76 and would love to double the donation this year.
The need for raffle prizes, financial donations, businesses that want to have a booth, and volunteers are
crucial to this endeavor. Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated. The event must pay for
itself, no individual or organization will profit from it financially so any type of donation is greatly appreciated.
If you wish, your business can be acknowledged for your donation in many different ways. We will be
distributing t-shirts, bags, flyers, programs and announcements during the event. Please let us know if you
would like to participate in our acknowledgement program.
